HUMEDAL DE SANTA MARIA DEL LAGO

Me llamó mucho la atención este sitio. Tenía un lago precioso y una caída de agua por allí, más o menos por donde están las paredes. Veníamos los domingos con los hijos muy pequeños y contemplábamos a los niños que acudían desde distintos barrios para bañarse. Era muy frecuente ver a la gente almorzando los domingos. Se sentaban en los alrededores del lago a comer gallina, y bueno, lo que vendían en un restaurante cercano, Era espectacular “.En la década de los sesenta se construyó la Avenida 80, estimulando la construcción de urbanizaciones en el sector. El humedal por su parte se vio reducido por los rellenos que se efectuaron para acondicionar un lote que se usaba como patio-taller de los trolebuses del Municipio. Por la misma época se inicio la apertura de la avenida Boyacá, que separó los dos cuerpos de agua originales, y en las áreas inmediatas al lago se consolidan los barrios la Granja y Tabora con la infraestructura urbana correspondiente.
